Onsite – Work Experience Program
The Onsite program allows Year 11 and 12 General students to undertake work experience in an industry/company of their choice. Students usually spend 1 school day per week at their work placement.
There are many benefits associated with the Onsite program. Students develop confidence, important work skills, maturity, and valuable networks with employers in their chosen industry. For every placement completed, students will also receive credit towards their WACE (secondary graduation).
Whilst placement details and dates can sometimes be varied to suit the needs of the employer/student, most students enrolled in Onsite will undertake two placements per year:
Typically Term 1, Week 4 to Term 2, Week 3 (10 days total, excluding holidays).
Typically Term 2, Week 8 to Term 3, Week 7 (10 days total, excluding holidays).
Please note that additional fees and charges apply for participation in the Onsite program. These reflect the cost of arranging work placements, insurance, logbooks, work visits, staffing, administration and document verification.
