Pathways and Careers Update Term 1 Week 4 2019

Our aim is to provide students with all the latest information that will help them to make decisions about future careers and life beyond school.

Please contact Kelsey Fink or Justin Farley, Pathways and Onsite Coordinators for any further queries Kelsey.Fink@newman.wa.edu.auJustin.Farley@newman.wa.edu.au | 9204 9457

Subject Changes

Whilst many Year 11 and 12 students have settled into their courses for 2019, there may be some students who wish to change subjects. The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) advises that Year 11 and 12 students should not transfer between subjects after Friday 1 March (Friday Week 4) as after this date they will find it increasingly difficult to complete the assessment requirements in their new subject.

Year 11 and 12 students wishing to change subjects should make an appointment with Mrs Fink or Mr Farley at the earliest opportunity.

Electrical Careers for Females

A limited number of fully-funded places are available for female Year 12 students seeking to qualify for an electrical pre-apprenticeship. These are offered through an external training provider, and students would attend school four days per week and training one day per week. Work experience is also required on the school holidays. Please click here for further information or speak to Mr Farley if you are interested.
