Thank you for considering Newman College as an option for your child’s education.

Kindergarten and Year 7 are the two main entry points for enrolment.  Applications for other year levels are accepted at any time, with families contacted to provide details on availability. Newman College is unable to accept certain visa categories from overseas students.  Please contact the Enrolment Office for further information.

The College accepts Enrolment Registrations at any time via this Website. Please note that due to high demand for school placements, the College cannot offer enrolment to all applicants. We encourage you to register your application well in advance of your desired admission year. It is recommended that Registrations are received at least 3 years in advance of entry into Year 7, and at least 2 years in advance of entry into Kindergarten. However, late applications will still be considered if numbers allow, or changes occur within current enrolment numbers.

Families are allocated interviews according to the Enrolment Policy.

When submitting your Enrolment Registration please note that you will be provided with further detailed information to complete at a later stage from our Enrolment Team (including the Parish Reference Form).

You are encouraged to attend one of our tours so that you and your child might gain an insight to the College operation and clarify any outstanding queries. Click Book a Tour to register for a tour.

The first point of call for those families considering an enrolment is Ms Jo Dunn at 9204 9412 or registrar@newman.wa.edu.au

We encourage you to register an Enrolment Application well in advance of the entry year. Our two major intake years are Kindergarten and Year 7.

Applications for Kindergarten open 2 years in advance and Applications for Year 7 open 3 years in advance.

The acceptance of an application does not guarantee an enrolment interview or subsequent offer of enrolment. Interviews are conducted by invitation at the discretion of the Principal and in accordance with the College Enrolment Policy.

Upon completion and return of the Enrolment Application form and Application Fee of $130, students are placed on a prospective future students’ list.

Prospective students not born in Australia, are required to provide proof of their Australian citizenship/residency or visa details.

This enrolment procedure must be followed for each child in the family wishing to secure a place.

Not all Visas are accepted at Newman College.

Enrolment interviews take place during intake periods for major intake years. For students enrolling into another year, families will be provided with alternate dates for interview.

Although Catholic students are prioritised for placement, students of other religious denominations are also fully considered and subject to availability, as per the College’s Enrolment Policy.

College Tours are held several times a term across all campuses and are advertised on the College website. Click here for the current tour schedule…

After interviews, families may be offered a place for their child. Following an offer, a period of five weeks is granted to accept the position and make payment of the Enrolment Deposit Fee for the first sibling. This will secure your child’s future place.

Newman College has no formal feeder primary schools. We accept students from many different schools. Geographical location or proximity to the College is not an enrolment priority or criteria, however attending a Catholic Primary school is an enrolment priority.

Having a sibling at the College or a parent who attended the College will give your child priority on the waiting list, but it does not always guarantee a place.

Due to the changing nature of waiting lists, we do not advise of a child’s actual position at any point in time. The College will keep in contact with you should your child be in a position to proceed with enrolment.

For further information regarding the enrolment process please contact our College Registrar, Jo Dunn on (08) 9204 9412 or registrar@newman.wa.edu.au

The College does not offer academic, spiritual, cultural or sporting scholarships; however, we do offer an Aboriginal Bursary Program. For more information regarding this program, please contact the Registrar Ms Jo Dunn at 9204 9412 or registrar@newman.wa.edu.au

We also offer Music Scholarships for a variety of musical instruments which covers the cost of lessons.

The College also offers concessions to holders of eligible Health Care Cards (HCC) and Pensioner Concession Cards. For more information regarding fees, charges and concessions, please contact the Finance Officer, Brenda McNutt at 9204 9414 or brenda.mcnutt@newman.wa.edu.au

If you decline your offer (but not wishing to cancel your child’s application), we will keep your child on our waiting list for the following intake year while retaining their original application date.

If you do not wish to cancel your child’s application, your child will return to our waiting list for the next intake year, retaining their original application date and Enrolment Deposit. Please keep in mind that all places are dependent on the number of students entering each year and unfortunately we are not able to guarantee a place.

If you wish to cancel your child’s application, the Enrolment Deposit is non-refundable.

Western Australia has immunisation laws in place that will help to better protect our children and the wider community from vaccine-preventable diseases. When you enrol your child in our Pre Kindergarten or Kindergarten you will need to provide your child’s current Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement, which shows your child is ‘up to date’ with all the scheduled immunisations (according to the National Immunisation Program) for their age. This Statement must be no more than two months old. Without an up-to-date immunisation history or an exemption, children cannot be enrolled at Newman College. If you would like to know more about the immunisation requirements, obtaining an AIR Immunisation History Statement or how to access immunisation services go to HealthyWA.
