ACC Athletics Carnival Update

The 2019 ACC Division 1 Athletics Carnival is being held next Wednesday 18 September at the WA Athletics Stadium.

Confidence and self-belief are a major factor in performance, and this has been built up with weeks of hard work on the training track. Athletes have also formed a solid fitness base through their Winter Club Sports as well as external training groups. There is great spirit in the team this year and we go into the carnival confident of giving of our best and looking forward to the challenge of competing with the best schools.

Upcoming Training and Events

  • Monday 16/9 PCG: Full Team Meeting
  • Monday 16/9 Period 4: Relay Practice
  • Tuesday 17/9: Team Pasta Lunch
  • Wednesday 18/9: ACC Div 1 Carnival

On the carnival day, all competitors are required to meet at the College Sports Complex at 7.00am dressed in the full College Physical Education Uniform (white socks, college tracksuit). The students will be given a College Athletics singlet and competitor number before being bussed to the stadium at 7.45am for our team warm up.

First events commence at 9.00am. The students will return to the College for a normal 3.15pm dismissal.

Team members are to bring food and drink for the entire day as there will be no canteen facilities and they should be prepared for all weather conditions (College hat and College tracksuit). All team members are aware of what events they are competing in and should prepare themselves accordingly.

As is the nature of these events, it is necessary to list a number of students as reserves. We understand that those who miss out will be disappointed, however their contribution over weeks of solid training is highly regarded by teachers, coaches and peers. Reserves should still prepare to compete as there are always changes to the team on the day.
