NAS Competition – Term 1

The College is a member of the Northern Associated Schools (NAS) sporting program and competes against John XXIII, Sacred Heart, Chisholm, and Servite Colleges. The competition encourages participation, sportsmanship and healthy competition. Playing sport and belonging to a team can improve a student’s social, physical and mental well-being and school is the best time to establish this is a lifestyle choice. It is a responsibility of all members of the College community to commit to and promote NAS Sport. This in turn will help motivate our students to give of their best, resulting in a more positive experience for all.

Years 3-6 Swimming Trials / Faction Carnival

A reminder that the Swimming Trials will take place on Friday 21 February with the Swimming Carnival set to occur on Friday 28 February. All parents and families are welcome to attend the carnival and show their support.

Years 7-12 Guild Swimming Carnival

Students from Years 7-12 will enjoy a fun day of competition at the annual Guild Swimming Carnival on Thursday 20 February. Click here to download the program of events and to access other important information for the day.

Swimming Squad Training

Swimming Squad Training commenced this week in the College Pool. Swimmers are asked to be at the pool by 7.00am to ensure training can start by 7.10am. Being on time for each training session is critical to the team’s success and emphasises the importance of every session. Following training, the College will provide cereal for breakfast. Each swimmer is asked to bring a bowl and spoon.
Throughout our training there will be several trial dates to help in the selection of the final squad. These include the Guild Swimming Carnival, NAS Swim Meet and designated trial training days. More information will be provided closer to these dates.

Individual Accomplishments

  • Tex Gallagher (Year 10) has come 2nd at the Australian National Ninja League Championships and earned himself an invitation to the Worlds being held in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is competing in the teens division (13-15-year age group) which starts next week. The top five competitors in Australia received an invitation. Goodluck!
  • Luke Bourke (Year 8) has been selected to represent WA at the National School Sport Triathlon Championships in Hervey Bay in Queensland in March. He qualified for the team after finishing 1st at the WA School Sport Triathlon at Champion Lakes in November 2019 and subsequent qualifying Triathlons over the summer in Perth and surrounding area. Luke is very dedicated to a full schedule of training for the 3 disciplines and we wish him all the best in the upcoming competition
