Newman News Term 1 Week 2: From the Deputy Principal Wellbeing Secondary

Welcome to the 2020 school year, particularly to our new students and families. I hope you all enjoyed a holy Christmas and a relaxing break. The new school year brings with it several exciting opportunities and events with the first few weeks being very busy.

Week 1 saw our first Principal Assembly involving all students from Years 7 – 12. The assembly was led by our 2020 College Captains as we focused on the year ahead and the opportunities and support available to students.

Rules/Policies

Thank you to students and parents for their positive start to the year. It was very pleasing to see a vast majority of our students arrive on the first day in correct uniform and with all of their equipment. Just a few reminders for families:

  • Students have access to the oval and courts at lunch but must wear a hat, and hopefully will have applied sunscreen that morning.
  • Students need to ensure they adhere to the College uniform requirements at all times. Click here for more information.
  • For 2020, the College ICT policy has changed with mobile phones and other smart devices needing to be stored in student lockers from 8.45am – 3.15pm. This information was also made available to students and families at the end of 2019.
