Secondary School Champagnat Day Celebrations

On Thursday 6 June, Catholic Communities and Marists across Australia and 83 countries around the world celebrated the Feast Day of St Marcellin Champagnat, Founder of the Marist Brothers and Marist Education. As an Australian Marist community, we give thanks for the life, witness and commitment of the Marist Brothers and those committed to Marist education who have served in our community, and across Western Australia.

To mark this very special day in the life of the International Marist Institute, our K-12 College community celebrated Champagnat Day across the College on Friday 14 June. Students on the Marcellin Campus began their Champagnat Day celebrations with Y7-Y12 Mass and presentation of the 2019 Champagnat Awards, followed by lunch from a variety of food stalls. Despite the wet weather curtailing the outdoor activities, students enjoyed the chocolate wheel game, silent disco, photo booth and the very entertaining Battle of the Bands contest in the afternoon.
