Newman News Term 3 Week 2: From the Leader of Early Childhood

We warmly welcome back all families to Term 3. With the easing of restrictions, it has been wonderful seeing parents across the campus again. We place great importance on the involvement of families in the educational journey of children, as we know that parents are the first and most influential educator of their children. As classrooms, the Library and Art Room all begin parent rosters once again, we encourage parents to sign up; children love having their parents at school and through your involvement they also appreciate the value that you place on their educational journey.

Fitness Friday

Fitness Friday has also recommenced and there is a wealth of activities for your children to select from each Friday morning – Lego Club, Gardening, Netball skills, Art Club, Dance Aerobics, Skipping and Table Tennis to name just a few.

We have not been able to secure a coffee van for every Friday of this Term, but the service will be available intermittently, as their availability allows. We encourage families to join in with their child in the activities, enjoy a coffee when available and reconnect with parents you may not have seen for some time

Pre-Primary and Kindergarten parents are asked to remain with their child until the bell rings, at which time they should be taken to their classroom door.

Marcellin Award

Congratulations to the following student who received a Marcellin Award in Week 2:

  • Christoper Kacperek, Year 1: For showing the Marist charism of “Love of Work” and the enthusiasm you have shown for your work and your consistent strive to challenge yourself with your learning.

The Marcellin Award at Marian Campus is drawn from submitted nominations each Wednesday morning at Prayer Assembly.

Pre Primary Red Assembly

Parents are invited to join us for the Pre Primary Red Assembly on Friday 7 August in the Marian Hall.

Pre Primary Landsdale Farm Excursion

Today the Pre Primary students enjoyed an excursion to Landsdale Farm to begin their unit on The Farm. They had a fabulous day exploring and learning about all the different farm animals.

This has also aligned with the baby chicks that they have been watching hatch in their common area.

Wellbeing Week

In Week 4, all students across the College will take part in Wellbeing Week. Everyone will be invited to take part in a number of activities focusing on different areas of wellbeing including physical health, mindfulness and building connection. The week will culminate in a Buddy Day at Lavalla Campus with a range of activities and our annual Lapathon.

Students are permitted to wear their sports uniform all week.
