REMAR Embarkation Camp

The Year 11 Blue and Year 12 Gold Embarkation Camp is a three-day retreat held at Serpentine Camp Centre. The two programs are held in conjunction in order to facilitate peer support, role modelling and community formation.

For the Year 11 Blue Caravel, it provides an opportunity to review the Red Crossing, informs the rowers of the expectations of the Blue Crossing and focuses on what it might mean to ‘live as Christ’s disciples’. As such, there is a strong focus on the development of a personal faith commitment.

The Gold Embarkation Program, provides an opportunity to review the Blue Crossing, informs the rowers of the expectations of the Gold Crossing and focuses on what it means to “be a witness in my community”. The camp seeks to form a supportive and committed group who will see the journey through.

At the end of the camp, the Blue and Gold rowers are given the opportunity to decide whether they wish to continue with the Caravel Crossing in 2020. Those who wish to continue will affirm their commitment to their Caravel.
